Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG has now claimed the prestigious trophy on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice in the closing moments to take a surprise lead. First, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial leveler in the dying seconds to force the contest into a penalty shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 shootout victory.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the last thirteen years.
